Peterculter, Aberdeen and further afield
Aberdeen, often known by its nicknames The Granite City (due to its spectacular granite architecture) or the Oil Capital of Europe (due to the presence of the oil industry since the late '60s), is Scotland's third largest city. It is home to two universities, a wealth of parks, gardens and open spaces, a variety of arts and culture venues and events and it provides a host of shopping attractions, from designer boutiques to department stores.
Aberdeen and the surrounding area is home to a variety of leisure activities and The Registry is well placed if your interests include golfing, with . Royal Aberdeen also hosted the Scottish Open in 2014, won by Justin Rose.
Further inland from Peterculter and The Registry is Royal Deeside where you will find the famous Balmoral Castle that hosts royalty as well as local distilleries that form part of the Malt Whisky Trail. Further inland leads you to Cairngorm National Park and its spectacular scenery and activities.
